The biggest draw to a floral designer in a private studio is that the artist is designing for you only, and is totally focused on your event and your design style. It's personalized service. There are no distractions of the daily chores of maintaining a retail shop, and there are no interruptions of walk-in customers or phone calls. Floral designers are able to offer multitude of options and have the flexibility to accommodate any size event. We are free to think "outside the box" and use flowers, containers and accents that a local shop may not carry. When we place an order for an event, we are usually buying from multiple vendors that we feel carry the highest quality product, and we are not limited to current inventory on hand. A floral designer has the flexibility, time, and infinite levels of creativity to produce your dream wedding or event.
My designs are my interpretations of your inspirations, and they are always original. Inspiration may come from a picture, an idea, a vision, a theme, a word, anything. Really, anything can inspire us to get the creative juices flowing and the ideas and sketches onto paper, and into real life. A joy of custom design is that you are never limited on inspiration or imagination. At Gigi Floral Design, we are constantly looking for unique items and seeking out new trends. Every year, I am traveling to conferences and workshops for knowledge sharing alongside famous U.S. and international designers and tradesmen.
However, most often we find that custom designs are collaborative efforts between client and designer. You, the client, start the story and the designer provides the rest, with both parties communicating during the whole creative process. This collaborative effort allows us to come up with designs that have our distinctive input and styles and at the same time, is always uniquely yours.
At first glance, we are designers who use flowers as the primary medium. However, as true designers, we are definitely not limited to just flowers. We have done some amazing arrangements using customized candles, seashells, candy, grass hedges, and battery-operated lights. We also have a variety of rental items such as chuppahs, candlesticks, urns and pedestals that can be used with or without floral decor. The sky is the limit.
No way. The reality of these jobs is that there is never a one-person team. It is rarely "just me." I may be your designer and contact person, but depending on the complexity, size, quantity, etc of your designs, there will probably be a number of assistants working with me to bring your designs to reality. In addition, there may be other people assisting with delivery, installation, and disassembly. This is such an overlooked service, but probably the most important element - it is crucial to have a safe and prompt delivery in order to produce a timely installation. But the biggest team player is really you, the client. Without your glowing smiles and nods of approval, the job isn't complete.
Our prices are determined based on the items and services needed for your event. We do not have stock plans or pre-package deals. All of our proposals are customized to each individual event, and are based on specific flowers requested, complexity of design, installation and disassembly requirements, and so forth.
We take pride that our clients consider floral décor high on their priority list. On average, we find that our wedding clients spend around 15% of their total budget on floral décor.
How excited to hear that we will have a chance to meet! The first step is to set up a consultation meeting, you can contact us either by email or phone. This meeting is usually 1 to 2 hours, where we will discuss the details of your event. We'll chat about ideas and inspirations, maybe peruse some of my publications and magazines, and get a good feel of the desired atmosphere. If possible, please bring any pictures of inspiration (floral or non-floral), pictures of dresses, fabric swatches, color swatches, invitation samples or ideas, etc. You are more than welcome to bring your fiancé, friends, family members, etc to join the discussion, we just recommend that you limit the number of people you bring to consultations since it may get distracting. A short time after our consultation meeting, we will send or email you a detailed proposal, listing per item the details of your floral designs.
We book up quickly, so we recommend that you set up a consultation meeting with us during the early stages of your planning, or as soon as you have decided to pursue Gigi Floral Design as a contributing vendor. In fact, we may be able to recommend venues and other event vendors in assisting with bringing your visions to reality. Please note that a $200 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your event date, with an increased amount for event dates around major holidays.
Our home installation services follow a different process, so please contact us for further information and availability.
